Just a hop, skip and a streetcar ride away from the downtown core lies a developing area, so quaint and picturesque, it provides a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city…in the city.

Fashion Weekly explored Toronto’s Distillery District and came across some true gems.

DISTILLERY DISTRICT

LILEO

This sprawling retail boutique has become a go-to spot for many young fashion savvy-individuals. Carrying such labels as APC, Hugo Boss, James Pearse and Rag & Bone, customers will no doubt leave, hoping to covet something from their extension collection. Lileo also boasts an impressive array of design-themed literature and unique artwork. Also, while you shop, enjoy a hot or cold beverage and a healthy snack at Livea juicebar, housed in the space.

PIKTO

For all you photography lovers out there, Pikto is a definite must-see. Everything from photo supplies to photography magazines, you are sure to find something you’ll want to take home. They also feature work from local artists that are up for sale.

CORKTOWN DESIGNS

We all know that the statement jewellery piece is all the rage, and look no further than Corktown Designs for your next great statement. Housing the work of artists, both local and worldwide, they offer a breathtaking collection of one of a kind pieces, you are sure to find nowhere else. Some standout lines include work from Tony Leung, Silver Seasons, Metal Pointus, Richard Wyman and John Carnes. In recent months, they’ve updated their inventory to include some handbags and stationary.

BERGO DESIGN

Owned by the same person who owns Corktown Design, this boutique focuses more on your household furnishing needs. They feature products that will not only fit in seamlessly in your home, but will give you easy solutions to some of your many household necessities.

DISTILL GALLERY

Opened in 2003, the Distill Gallery houses the work of over 100 emerging artists and
designers from Canada – all individually handmade. Their products range from one of a kind sculptures, jewellery, textiles and fashion, and paintings.

ARTEMIDE

Originally founded in Italy, this brand has become the leader in contemporary lighting. Their showroom offers a wide collection of lighting options for your commercial or residential spaces. Lighting is an important factor often overlooked in home décor, and you can rest assured that Artemide does not allow any detail go unnoticed.
