Golden Globes

The Best & The Worst From The Red Carpet

While the integrity and art of the amazing films and television shows that are celebrated at the Golden Globes deserve to be fully appreciated, we can’t deny the part that is really the most exciting- the glitz and glamour of the red carpet! Here we take a look at which startlets were dazzling, and which ones were dull.

BEST DRESSED!

#1 Zoe Saldana

This ruffled maroon dress by Louis Vuitton is definitely an upgrade from the blue paint and feathers in Avatar!

#2 Christina Hendricks

This Mad Men vixen wore a beautiful champagne coloured dress by Project Runway alum favourite, Christian Siriano.

#3 Emily Blunt
This “The Young Victoria” star’s pink chiffon Dolce & Gabbana gown is so dreamy and fluffy, it looks like it could’ve been made from a cloud!

#4 Olivia Wilde
Always one to stand out from the crown, Olivia broke away from the sea of girly gowns with a rock star edgy metallic silver Gucci dress.

#5 Sandra Bullock
One of the biggest colours on the carpet this year was purple, and no one wore it better than Sandra in this strapless Bottega Veneta gown.

WORST DRESSED!

#1 Cher
There are just no words for this one. It is velour. And it ties up at the front. That is all.

#2 Mariah Carey
The orange skin, black dress, and two giant pumpkins makes Mariah look like she belongs in a Halloween parade rather than a prestigious red carpet

#3 Rita Wilson
Golden Globe fashion tip number one: Never wear your grandmother’s tablecloth as a dress on the red carpet.

#4 Diane Kruger
Places where this outfit would be suitable include a 4 year old girl’s birthday party (on the 4 year old) and a prom in the 80’s. The Golden Globes red carpet? Not so much.

#5 Anna Paquin
Things this outfit makes us wonder are 1) Please pass the sunglasses 2) Why would someone take those blue Crayola scissors to their own dress? 3) The shoes. What is with the shoes? The saddest part is that this outfit probably had some great potential.
